Molten Lava Cake

Chocolate lovers, you're in for a treat.

If you've never tried a chocolate molten lava cake, you do not know what your missing. I first tried this to-die-for cake at the Chart House in Weekhawken, NJ (which, by the way is a really nice restaurant) on my birthday. My friends had me wait for thirty minutes in anticipation for my surprise: a tiny little cake with a candle in it.

I thought to myself, "what the hell?" I'm not paying nine bucks for this.

Oh how quickly my mind changed when I cut the cake with my heavy knife and watched as the molten chocolate (hence molten lava cake) meandered its way through the tiny crevices of the decadent cake and onto the white plate. The entire dessert was still hot. The godiva chocolate used to make the cake just melted so smoothly in my mouth. It was fabulous.

But guess what, it doesn't take $9 and a trip to Weehawken to experience the delight. Ever since that night, I have been practicing making this very cake and, thanks to a youtube video, I have discovered the sacred recipe.

YOU MUST TRY THIS!

Geneve does an amazing job, these cakes are extraordinary. I made them for my family and friends and they were extremely impressed (good thing they dont know about this youtube video).

If you dont have ramekins, use cupcake molds. That is what I used and they came out just as great.

ENJOY! and tell me what you think =]

Religious (?)

Have you ever met someone who think they are Jesus himself?

In my opinion, I think people now days have the most distorted view of the definition of "religious." I can not say what it is exactly, but I most certainly know what it is not.

It is not what you call yourself if you go to church on Sundays.
It is not what you call your mom just because she sent you to Catholic School.
It is not what you think you are because you go to religious concerts (despite how much you may cry there).
It is especially not what you are if you impose your beliefs on other people (which, I suggest you, if you are this way, get through your head is going to get you in trouble one day)
It is not praying to God when final exams come around and the last book you read was about a dog named Spot.
It is not not saying God's name in vain.

And the list goes on.
But what shocks me is that grown men and women call themselves religious when the truth is, they do not know what the meaning of religion is.

I know people could care less about this topic and one of my life goals is to change that but it is important that you know when to stop and think about what your calling yourself before you brand yourself something.

Still don't get what I am saying?
Well does it make sense if someone who plays soccer with their kids because they need to spend "quality time with them" calls themselves athletic? An actual athlete would not think so.

Does it make sense that someone abandons their parents in a nursing home, never visits them, and sends them a card on Christmas and then call themselves family oriented? Someone who is actually family oriented would not think so.

Therefore does it make sense that someone who goes to church on Sundays because they have since they were kids, and because their friends go call themselves religious? Someone who studies religion, practices it and its values on a daily basis and accepts others aka someone who truly is religious, I am not saying I am that person, but this person would not think so.

One day, I go to school and a friend of mine says "what the hell!", as she does every other sentence. But today, she followed this sentence up by ssaying "Oh, I should not say that."

Surprised at her sudden change of heart, I ask her why and her response infuriates me. She says, "well yesterday we learned in church that you should not say hell. We need to be good Christians"

Are you kidding me?
So basically, being a good Christian means that you take what you learned on a Sunday, apply it to your life for about 2-3 days, wait until the next Sunday and repeat the process as you go around calling yourself religious, as she does.

If you agree with the previous statement, I strongly suggest you spend some time thinking about your definition of religious. Don't find yourself being the epitome of most "religious" people think they are.

P.S. I am sorry if this offends anyone. I know there are people deserved of this title.

The Man Who Whispered

"A man came to me and whispered my name in my ear. I turned around and looked at him and asked him why he just did that. The man examined me sternly and said ____"

I can't seem to be able to finish this thing...any ideas?

I would rather write.

Starting something is almost always the hardest part of doing something new. For me, this is blogging.

It took me a good thirty minutes to convince myself to allow myself to start and give myself a chance to speak.

Too many of us go live life unheard and my goal is to change that. I, personally don't like talking. But I LOVE writing. I love reading what other people write and complimenting them and helping them so if there is anything you have written I would love to read it.

I have noticed that days pass without meaning. Routines and insignificant conversation pass time, but we do not realize that we do not have much time left to pass! So you must use your mind and think. Thinking is a great activity. Just sit on a damn couch and ponder about anything that enters your mind. Dont have time? Think of something on the freaking toilet seat. I am sure you will intrigue yourself.

Tell me how it goes =]
